Social Media Image Sizes 2026: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn & X

Current image sizes, aspect ratios and Reels/Story safe zones for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Pinterest in one place.

Every platform shows images at different ratios, and the wrong size leads to awkward crops or blurry results. Use the tables below to pick the right canvas before you start designing. To crop one image to every size at once, use the Social Media Image Resizer.

Profile grid preview1080 × 14403:4
  • 4:5 portrait posts take up the most space in the feed.
  • In carousels, every slide is shown at the first slide's ratio, with up to 20 slides. For seamless swipe designs, use the Instagram Grid & Carousel Splitter.
  • The profile grid crops posts to 3:4. Design to that ratio when a post must look complete on the grid.

Quick tips

  • Always design at the recommended size or an exact multiple; designing small and scaling up causes blur.
  • JPG suits photos; PNG keeps text- and logo-heavy graphics sharper. Shrink files before uploading with the Image Compressor.
  • Keep important text away from the edges; platforms may crop previews to different ratios.
