    Frequently asked questions

Does a watermark protect my image?

A watermark shows who owns an image and discourages unauthorized use. No watermark is impossible to remove, though; the diagonal tiled mode makes removal much harder.

How opaque should a watermark be?

For portfolio images, 15-30% opacity is a good balance between visible and unobtrusive. For drafts sent to clients, higher opacity and the tiled mode are common.

How do I use my logo as a watermark?

Upload a transparent PNG of your logo. A single-color white or black version works best on both light and dark photos.

    Will my images lose quality?

PNG files are saved losslessly; JPG files are re-saved at high quality (92%), so the difference isn't visible. The image dimensions don't change.
