Frequently asked questions
What is a blurred background?
The video itself is enlarged to cover the frame and blurred behind the original, which stays fully visible in the middle. It's the most common way to share landscape video in a vertical format without cropping.
What does Crop do?
The video is enlarged to cover the target frame completely and the overflowing edges are cut off. It works well when the subject is centered; things at the edges may be lost.
Which browsers does it work in?
The tool uses the browser's built-in video encoding (WebCodecs). It works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Every frame is redrawn in your browser and the video is encoded on your device.
