Frequently asked questions
What's the best ratio for Instagram post videos?
4:5 portrait (1080 × 1350 pixels) takes the most space in the feed. Square 1:1 (1080 × 1080) is also common. For Reels, use 9:16.
Will my landscape video be cropped?
With Blurred background or Color, the whole video stays visible and the empty space is filled. With Crop, the video is enlarged to cover the frame and its edges are cut off.
How does it look on the profile grid?
The Instagram profile grid crops posts to 3:4, so a small strip at the top and bottom of a 4:5 video isn't visible there. Keep key elements near the middle.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The video is processed entirely in your browser.
