Frequently asked questions
Why 9 MB instead of 10?
Small deviations in the size calculation make it safer to stay a little under the limit. A 9 MB target keeps the video under 10 MB.
Which settings suit gameplay clips?
For fast-moving gameplay, lowering the resolution to 720p or 480p gives a cleaner picture at the same file size. Clips of 30–60 seconds work best.
What if the limit changes?
You can type any value into the target size field. Check Discord's current limit on its own upload screen.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser.
