Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce a photo to a specific size in KB?
Choose By target size and enter the KB value you need (e.g. 200). The tool adjusts the quality automatically until the file fits under that limit. The output is JPG, which most forms accept.
What if the target size can't be reached?
For a very large photo and a very small target, lowering quality alone may not be enough. Also reduce the pixel dimensions with the Max width setting (e.g. 1280 px).
Will the photo look worse?
With reasonable targets (e.g. 3 MB down to 300 KB) the difference is barely visible. Very small targets lose more detail; the list shows each file's new size before you download.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser; your photos are never sent to a server.
